Keeping an Old Wooden Boat Alive

Keeping an Old Wooden Boat Alive

Tomorrow I will get up early and prepare another salmon, cure it in sea salt, make fresh oak sawdust and start smoking the two skinless sides. It's the time of year when I also start to think about 'Sigrun'. Checking my supplies of 'Stockholm tar', Turpentine, Linseed oil. Her old sail is very heavy and I'm hoping to afford a much lighter weight one this Spring. I have a marina berth for her mid-way up the East coast of Shetland. My plans for this year are to sail her around Shetland's Northern most islands . Exploring and photographing as I go.
